The Middleton Park bonfire and fireworks are set once again to delight local residents on Thurdsay 5 November 2015.
Sponsored by Land Securities at The White Rose Shopping Centre, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and will be followed by a firework display at 7.30pm.
Local councillors are encouraging people of all ages to attend the local event, which they believe will be every bit successful as last year’s, and which saw 7,000 young people and families enjoy the entertainment put on by Leeds City Council. In the interest of everybody’s safety, they are also asking people to leave their own fireworks and sparklers at home.
This year’s competition to design a poster for the event was won by 6 year old George Connell-Humphreys, a pupil at Blackgates Primary School in Tingley.
Middleton Park Councillor Paul Truswell said:
“I and my fellow councillors Judith Blake and Kim Groves are really looking forward to this year’s festivities for 5th November. Last year’s event saw a packed crowd enjoy a spectacular bonfire and firework display and I’m sure there will be just as much fun on offer this year. Our thanks go again to Land Securities and the White Rose Centre for their support of such a brilliant event for local people. I wish everyone who attends a wonderful evening!”
