Hula hooping, mini-beasts gardening, circus skills and a parents’ breakfast club are all on the agenda over the next few months at Belle Isle Family Centre.
Hula hoop classes are beginning again at Belle Isle Family Centre, on Thursdays from 4.30pm till 5.30pm.
The centre is hosting some Minibeasts gardening sessions on Friday afternoons, just until the end of September, from 1pm till 3pm. Over the next few weeks they will be planting strawberries, herbs, garlic, spinach and spring bulbs, as well as making little signs to remind you what you’ve planted. Please bring any empty, clear 2L plastic bottles to use as mini-greenhouses for seedlings. You can also plant some herbs to take home with you.
Finally the centre is looking to start a term-time breakfast club for parents, offering free Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate training for interested volunteers, and the breakfast club will run on Friday mornings. Parents should get in touch if they would like to attend or volunteer at this group. It’s hoped to start the club on 12 September, just an informal thing where people can have a cuppa and a chat.
