Children from Middleton St Mary’s primary school joined a pizza-making workshop at Frankie & Benny’s in the White Rose Shopping Centre on Wednesday (9 July 2014).
Head Chef Ricardo showed the children how to add the right amount of cheese and select toppings from a range of fresh produce including roasted peppers and sliced ham. Pineapple was also brought out at the request of the children. The children’s creations were then cooked in the restaurant’s oven at 400C for 7 minutes.
Adele Barron, a governor at Middleton St Mary’s explained that hey had worked on many projects with the White Rose Centre including story telling, creating a model village and toy testing. The pizza workshop was a reward for some of the school’s ‘Always Children’, those that are always well behaved, always get involved and always make an effort.
The workshop marked the launch of the centre’s Summerdine campaign which offers shoppers a host of one-off promotions, exclusive offers and money-off discounts all devised to ensure families enjoy quality time together at the centre this summer. As part of the campaign, shoppers have the chance to bag a free day out to a selection of the UK’s biggest and best loved attractions when they dine out at Frankie & Benny’s, Nandos, handmade burger co. and Prezzo in the Centre this summer.
