With just two weeks to go until the Holbeck Gala, it is set to be a great local event with lots of activities and stalls for all to enjoy.
The gala, which takes place on Holbeck Moor, will be held on Saturday 19 July 2014 starting at 12 noon and running through to 4pm. This year the gala will have more of a ‘market’ feel with a variety of different stalls from local businesses, community groups and charities. There will once again be a main stage with a range of acts performing throughout the day. Acts confirmed are the South Leeds Steel Pan Band, The Majorettes, a fantastic children’s entertainer, local acoustic musical acts and the amazing local theatre group Slung Low.
This year sees the gala host its first ever beer tent, and there will of course be a variety of food stalls to choose from and sample throughout the day.
The event is a family day out for all ages with lots of activities for children such as go karts, bouncy castles and slides and the exciting return of an array of exotic animals from Morley Exotic Animal Rescue.
Holbeck Gala is run by an independent committee of volunteers and relies on volunteers on the day to make sure things run smoothly. If you would like to help out on the day please email: algkaye@googlemail.com.
So, make sure that your diary is free on the 19 July 2014 for a day out for all the family. We look forward to seeing you there!
