Hunslet pub reopens with big plans for the community

Residents in Hunslet have a great reason to celebrate as The Prospect Pub has reopened its doors, bringing a fresh start and an exciting new vision for the local community.

Under new management, the well-known neighbourhood pub is set to become more than just a place for a drink. The new boss has ambitious plans to create a welcoming community hub where people can meet, support one another, and take part in local activities and awareness events.

One of the highlights of the venue is a free room available to hire, which can comfortably hold up to 30 people. The space is ideal for community groups, meetings, support sessions, clubs, or small events. By offering the room free of charge, the pub hopes to encourage local organisations and residents to come together and make use of a friendly, relaxed environment.

The Prospect is also bringing back some classic pub entertainment to help bring the community together. DJ Karaoke will take place every Friday night, giving locals the chance to sing, socialise and enjoy a lively atmosphere.

In addition, the pub will be launching a weekly Quizness event starting on 25 March, promising fun, friendly competition and a great evening out for teams of friends, families and neighbours.

With a strong focus on community spirit, the new management hopes The Prospect will once again become a popular meeting place in Hunslet.

Residents are encouraged to pop in, meet the new boss, and show their support. With a warm welcome, exciting events, and a commitment to supporting the local community, The Prospect Pub is ready to become a fantastic community space and a great local pub once again.

  1. Nice to know that The Prospect pub will be reopening soon,I hope the new plans for it are a great success

  2. good luck.. community pubs are needed to reclaim our community making people want to go and socialise over a couple of drinks. Too many were lost when the breweries tried to turn them into yuppi pubs….

  3. Just a thought but I think a place for Live music is needed in South Leeds as the Tommy Wass in Beeston has turned into one of those boring pubs. There’s enough boring pubs that are half empty throughout Beeston, never mind the rest of South Leeds. Also some proper real ales wouldn’t go amiss. It’s great when you walk past what looks like a promising real ale pub, with what sounds like proper entertainment, only to walk through it’s doors and be confronted by someone who can’t sing on the Karaoke machine and nothing but boring Carling, Fosters, Coors and John Smiths at the bar.

    1. I had a great night in there Friday and I wasn’t even out out I was drinking Guinness and if Simon Cowel was in he would have stuck a contract in my hand.
