Carers Leeds is proud to celebrate Carers Week 2025 with a programme of events designed to support, celebrate, and empower unpaid carers across the city. Taking place from Monday 9 – Sunday 15 June 2025, the week will highlight the vital role of unpaid carers while offering opportunities to connect, learn, and unwind.
Kicking off the week on Monday 9 June, Carers Leeds is delighted to host an ‘In Conversation’ event with Lindsey Burrow at Leeds Central Library. Lindsey will share her powerful and personal reflections from her memoir Take Care, discussing her experience as a carer and the wider realities of caring.
On Thursday 12 June, Carers Leeds will host a special Open Day at its city centre base. Carers, professionals, and members of the public are invited to drop in, meet the team, find out more about the support available, and hear the results of Carers Leeds’ Annual Carers Survey — providing a unique insight into the experiences of unpaid carers in Leeds.
Throughout the week, Carers Leeds is also offering a series of bitesize learning sessions, both online and in-person, covering key topics to empower and inform carers. These sessions include:
- The Care Act and Carers Assessments
- Lasting Power of Attorney
- Maximising Income
- Paying for Residential Care
In addition to the learning and networking events, a range of wellbeing activities will be available to help carers relax and recharge — including guided walks and a scenic ride on the Leeds Water Taxi.
Join Carers Leeds this Carers Week and be part of a citywide celebration recognising the vital contributions of unpaid carers in Leeds.
