Let’s Move: South Leeds in photos

Hundreds of local residents came to Cross Flatts Park on Saturday (11 May 2024) to meet groups offering activities locally.

People queued up in the sunshine to have a go at activities ranging from athletics to cycling, football to orienteering. Children could win a prize for trying five different sports or activities.

The showcase was organised by Karen Peck who runs the Get Set Leeds project aiming to get people in Beeston Hill and Holbeck more active. Karen commented:

“I’m really, really pleased. It’s a busy day and it really feels like a community celebration. One of the things we hear is there’s not much going on in the area, but we know that actually there lot’s of really good stuff going on, so it’s nice to see giving things a go, trying new things that they’ve not done before.”

If you attended the event, organisers are keen to hear your feedback. You can complete an online survey at: surveys.leeds.gov.uk/s/42KNRU/
