Holbeck Community Carol Service this Sunday at St Matthews Community Centre at 7pm, writes Kate Alty.
Come along to sing some traditional carols, hear a Christmas message, eat some delicious mince pies, enjoy a glass of mulled wine, and celebrate Christmas together!
The carol service at St Matthews is an event which has happened for the last two years, organised by a group of local Holbeck residents who are part of Mosaic Church and it has been a great festive evening.
Everyone is so welcome; we would love to join together as a community at this festive time of year to make this year the best yet! It is an event which is well attended by local residents, families, members of local community groups and local councillors but it would be great to see more South Leeds residents come along and join in the fun!
Mosaic Church, are a city wide church who are soon to multiply into three gatherings having formerly been meeting in a large warehouse on Sweet Street. The South Gathering is going to be meeting at Cockburn High School and this will be launching on the 3rd of February at 10am. More details of this event to follow.
As a church we really love South Leeds and the people here so we are really excited about being more locally focused for serving the community, engaging in community action and particularly for this festive period spreading a bit of Christmas joy!
We hope to see you on Sunday for a fantastic festive evening.
