Middleton Elderly Aid receives a Virtual Blue plaque

A virtual #LocalLegend Blue Plaque was unveiled on Friday (29 May 2020) to celebrate Middleton Elderly Aid’s sterling work since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Commenting on Facebook, Middleton Elderly Aid said:

“We are very proud to say we have been nominated by our members for a Virtual Blue Plaque from Leeds Civic Trust.”

Ken Ingram commented:

“Well done to Samantha, her staff and volunteers. Keeping us elderly sorted with daily meals deliveries to our doors,  prescription pick ups and grocery deliveries.  Quite a few places have shut down during lockdown, not Samantha. Thank you Sam.”

Leeds Civic Trust has been ‘unveiling’ virtual plaques throughout May. The plaques celebrate people and groups doing amazing things during these difficult times and are all nominated by members of the public. Other South Leeds winners include Kidz Klub Leeds, Slung Low and The Holbeck, as well as citywide nominations such as Household Waste collectors and Leeds hospitals.
