White Rose Shopping Centre has donated £3,000 to support Leeds South and East Foodbank’s summer holiday breakfast packages, provided free to families during the school break.
The programme supplies milk, cereal and cereal bars, fruit, and bread to families struggling during the holidays.
White Rose has been supporting Leeds South & East Foodbank since 2020, and earlier this year introduced the in-centre Community Collection Bank, which accepts non-perishable food and hygiene supplies.
Steven Foster, Centre Director at White Rose Shopping Centre, said:
“We’re pleased to be able to continue supporting Leeds South and East Foodbank. Demand for the Foodbank’s services have increased by 58% recently, and it’s essential to do everything we can to support our community.”
Wendy Doyle of Leeds South and East Foodbank added:
“We are extremely grateful for the support of White Rose in helping us provide breakfast items to families in need of our service more than ever during the school holidays.
“The demand for these items and our support has increased greatly over the recent weeks, and we are expecting this to increase even more over the coming months, so donations are incredibly valuable.”
