What’s On Roundup 4-10 October 2025

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds.

Volunteers will be meeting at 10am on Saturday at Hunslet Cemetery, Middleton Road, to carry out various tidying up activities. New people are always welcome and equipment is provided.

The Church of the Nazarene host a coffee morning with affordable breakfast on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm. Lupton Street, Hunslet, LS10 2QR.

Leeds United entertain Tottenham Hotspur in the Premiership on Saturday, kicking off at 12:30pm. You can expect the usual heavy traffic and parking issues around Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley before and after the match.

On Saturday afternoon the Beeston Repair Café launches. Bring broken electricals, cloths needing alterations, a bike that needs attention. The volunteer fixers will do their best to mend them. 1-4pm at St Luke’s CARES shop, 246 Dewsbury Road, LS11 6JQ.

St Peters Church in Belle Isle (LS10 3QN) are holding a Jumble Sale on Saturday afternoon, 1-3pm.

A Menopause Information and Support Day where women can receive information, support, some freebies, and the chance to make new friends in a safe and confidential supportive environment, takes place on Saturday from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Annex of Dewbury Road Community Hub & Library, LS11 6PF

Saturday night see Creepy Boys at Slung Low’s Warehouse in Holbeck. You’re invited: The Creepy Boys, are throwing their 13th birthday party. It will have everything. Games. Gifts. Possibly Satan. Probably Cake. Combining 2000s sexy songs, satanic rituals, and Willam Dafoe, these horny little boys do whatever it takes to make their birthday dreams come true. On Sunday the Leeds Knights take on the Romford Raiders in the NIHL National Division. The ice hockey match faces off at 5:15pm at Planet Ice on Elland Road.

On Monday evening the Garnets & Oakleys Residents Association is meeting at the St Luke’s CARES shop, 246 Dewsbury Road at 6:30pm

MHA South Leeds are holding a Winter Wellbeing Day on Wednesday from 10am-2pm at St Andrew’s Community Centre, Cardinal Road, beeston LS11 8AG. There will be advice on keeping warm, rising prices and fuel bills as well as mental health and wellbeing. There will also be a free soup and roll lunch.

Hunslet Moor Residents Forum meets on Wednesday at 6:30pm at the Hunslet Moor Community Hub, behind the purple tower blocks.

New Bewerley Community School in Beeston (LS11 6TB) is holding an open evening on Wednesday, with a welcome from the headteacher at 4pm and 5pm.

Buy, Sell, Swap is the new version of the jumble or car boot sale and you can take part in one at Manorfield Hall Community Centre, Newhall Road, LS10 3RR on Tuesday 10-11:30am. Entry is free, refreshments will be on sale, get down a buy, sell or swap new and used items.

There will be a councillor surgery at Gascoigne House in Middleton (LS10 4YA) on Thursday morning from 9-10am.

There is a Police Contact Point at Cottingley Community Centre on Friday, 10am-12pm. This is a chance to raise concerns or ask questions of the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team in an informal setting.

And finally, Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association meet on Friday at 6 pm at the Involve Community Centre, Whitfield Avenue, Hunslet, LS10 2QE.
