Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start this week in Middleton at St Cross Church on Acre Road which is holding a Summer Fayre on Saturday, 11am-2pm. Organisers promise tombola, raffle, refreshments, cake stall, games stalls, craft stall, books and much more.

There’s a Craft Fair and Car Boot Sale at Rowland Road Social Club in Beeston on Saturday, 12-4pm. There will be food, plants, jewellery, knits and lots of hands on activities for children.

Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club’s Second XI take on Hartshead Moor CC on Saturday at Gipsy Lane, Beeston, LS11 5TT starting at 12:30pm. Then on Sunday the Women’s First XI entertain Morley CC starting at 2pm

Then from 1-4pm the Belle Isle Repair Cafe is back in BITMO’s Gate. Do you have a small item at home that you’d like the fixers to try to repair? Things like hairdryers, small kitchen appliances, games consoles, garden tools, clothing, shoes, bags and belts. Join them for a toastie and check out the free school uniform on offer. There will also be a discussion about the recent Gala and a stat on planning next year’s event.

Slung Low present Me For You by Rachel E Thorn on Saturday at 7:30pm. A play about love. In the face of overwhelming evidence that we’re a despicable race of selfish parasites. Longlisted for the Kenneth Branagh Award. Contains strong language and distressing themes. The show is pay-what-you-decide. Book your free ticket at www.slunglow.org/shows and once you’ve seen the show decide how much you want to pay. Slung Low’s Warehouse In Holbeck is on Crosby Street, LS11 9RQ.

Friends of Cross Flatts Park host the band Amici playing pop favourites from the 1980s onwards on Sunday, 2:30-4:30pm. Refreshments will be served in the Watsonian Pavilion and free craft activities will be available for children.

Neurodivergent, Stronger Together is a disability support group for adults only. To support adults, that have or suspect themselves to have a disability. They are meeting on Tuesday from 11am-1pm, At BITMO’s Gate, Aberfield Gate, Belle Isle, LS10 3QH.

On Wednesday Breeze in the Park visits Coopers Field off Belle Isle Road, LS10 3HF. Enjoy the fun, chills and thrills of their interactive play system, arts zone, fun fair, food and, of course, our classic inflatables. There are two sessions: 12-2:30pm and 3-5:30pm. Tickets are 50p per child and booking is essential at breezeleeds.org/breeze-in-the-park

Involve Community Centre are holding table top sale on Friday, 2-4pm. There will be a raffle, cake stall, bric a brac, refreshments available. To reserve a table call Stewart on 07419 776356. Involve community centre is located on Whitfield Avenue, Hunslet, LS10 2QE.

Hunslet Remembered is a chance to reminisce and discuss local history on Thursday from 10am-12pm at Hunslet Community Hub & Library.

Cottingley community centre hosts a Police contact point on Friday 10am-12pm. This is a chance to raise concerns or ask questions of the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team in an informal setting.

And finally, on Friday residents of Beeston & Holbeck ward can meet their Councillors at the monthly surgeries: 4pm at Beeston Library on Town Street; 5pm at St Matthew’s Community Centre in Holbeck; and 6pm at Cottingley Community Centre.
