What’s On Roundup 10-16 February 2024

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start on Saturday morning with the Middleton Makers Market, 10am-2pm, at Middleton Park Circus. Lots of lovely handmade items including clothing, jewelery, soaps and food; all made by local people.

Trinity Network host their Community Café on Saturday, 10am-12pm at the United Reformed Church, Nesfield Avenue, Belle Isle, LS10 3LG

Also on Saturday afternoon Leeds United entertain Rotherham United at Elland Road. Kick-off is at 3pm and you can expect the usual heavy traffic and parking issues around Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley.

Leeds Dads will be holding another free Soft Play session, 10am-12pm on Sunday morning at Little Angels behind the Tommy Wass pub, LS11 7HL. This for dads and pre-school children and there’s free tea and toast! Book: leedsdads.org/events

St Luke’s Church, Malvern Road, Beeston, LS11 8PD, is hosting a free Sunday Breakfast at 9:30am, everyone is welcome to join them for good food and good company.

The South Leeds Community Kitchen will be cooking up a free meal on Sunday, 4-5:45pm, at St Luke’s Church, Malvern Road, Beeston Hill.

On Wednesday Trinity Network are holding a Valentine’s Tea Dance from 11am-3pm at the United Reformed Church, Nesfield Avenue, Belle Isle, LS10 3LG

Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association were due to meet on Wednesday , but this has been postponed. However, Housing Leeds will host a meeting on Wednesday 22 February at 6:30pm at the Church of the Nazarene, Lupton Street, Hunslet, LS10 2QR.

If you would like to brush up your public speaking skills get along to White Rose Speakers on Wednesday. They meet at the Leonardo Hotel (formerly Jury’s Inn) at Brewery Place, LS10 1NE at 7pm.

SEN-astic is a support group meeting at St Luke’s Church, Malvern Road, LS11 8PD. It’s open to anyone who cares for children with special needs, parents, siblings, carers, childminders and grandparents. This month’s meeting is on Thursday, 9:15-10:30am. Come along for a coffee, friendship, advice and support.

Leeds Baby Bank will be at Dewsbury Road Community Hub & Library on Thursday 10am-12pm offering support to people to access support services, community activity and longer-term support. They also gift families an essential top-up of items like nappies, wipes, formula and toiletries.

The Hamara Centre is hosting a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support on Thursday 10:30am-1pm. They’re promising scrummy cakes, a cuppa and a chat and it’s all in a good cause. Tempest Road, LS11 6RD.
