Third Sector Leeds (TSL) is ‘going local’ in South East Leeds, holding an event on Wednesday (25 June 2014) to discuss how voluntary and community groups can best work with Leeds City Council in the area.
The event aims to attract and is open to third sector organisations to build relationships with the new Area Leader – Martin Dean and local Councillors. The event aims to bring together partners to continue with conversations and to further develop partnership relationships, with the new Area Leader.
An open invitation has been extended to the local Councillors in the area to attend and to listen to the conversations that take place, to fully understand the third sector and to hear their views on local priorities and initiatives.
The event will open with a presentation by the local area team updating attendees on how Community Hubs, Community Committees and Citizens@Leeds all fit together.
The format of the event will be round table conversations which aim to be informal in nature and hope to unpick some of the complexities around the following in the South East area:
- What are Community Hubs and Community Committees?
- What should they look like?
- What should it feel like when communities access them?
- Where should they be located?
The meeting takes place on Wednesday 25 June, 1:30-3:30pm at Middleton Railway, Moor Road, Hunslet, LS10 2JQ.
