The ambulance for pets

West Yorkshire Pet Ambulance, who’s base is in Middleton, was launched in January 2024 by veterinary responder Daniel Jordan.

18 months on from establishing the pet ambulance, the service now operates two vehicles and covers not only Leeds, but Bradford, Wakefield, Barnsley, Sheffield and has even visited Liverpool during a medical transfer. The service is vital to pet owners and provides reassurance should pets take ill.

“We never thought the service would be this busy, we have helped hundred of pets since launching the service back in 2024” said Daniel. “We are the only service in Yorkshire that carries medical oxygen. This is vital for patients who are experiencing respiratory distress and need hospital treatment as an matter of urgency.

“Whether its vet transport for a routine appointment or a medical emergency the West Yorkshire Pet Ambulance is clearly needed in our region and is being accessed by pet owners and veterinary practices across the region.”

If you need to use the pet ambulance call: (0113) 460 1615.
