Teenage Thai boxers win big on County Durham show

South Leeds teenage Thai boxers returned from competition in Bishop Auckland confident that their decisive wins on Yodphet Fight Night Three stand them in good stead for greater success in 2026.

Jack Marshall, 16, and Fabian Monit, 15, have been training for eighteen months at Beeston’s MSA Academy under Rafal Wrzeszcz known as Kru Rafal. “I’ve now won four of six fights,” said Fabian, “I’ve just defeated Leighton McAllister from Liverpool. I stopped him in the second round. At that point he was wobbling and bleeding quite badly from his nose. This was my first adult bout so punches and kicks to the head without protection. I’m proud I did so well as Leighton’s experienced and aggressive. I weighed him up quickly and then found the right shots.”

A few weeks previously Middleton lad Fabian had become SANDEE promotions Anglo-Irish junior champion at Barnsley Metrodome. “I’m looking forward to getting lots more wins in 2026 starting with the first SANDEE in February.”

Jack was “pleased to get a first round stoppage in this my first adult bout and my opponent’s third. I’d seen video of him in action and knew how aggressive he was, but I’d prepared myself well. It was exhilarating to be able to punch and kick to the head. I’d been well trained and am grateful to Raf our coach and teammates Gracjan and Kamíl.”

If able to offer sponsorship or interested in training at MSA e-mail raf86msa@gmail.com or call 07963 599436. The gym is in Sugar Mills Business Park LS11 7HL.
