The sun shone and the crowds flocked to the moor to enjoy Holbeck Gala 2012.
One of the organisers, Ian Pickup, said:
“What a fantastic day – the sun was out and we had lots of fun…”
Many stalls were held by local business and communities providing food and drinks, raffles, prizes, inflatable games, small rides, clowns and local music groups.
Lots of people were in attendance due to the outstanding weather and the local torch bearer Yvonne Crowther attended the event and photos were taken of her holding the torch.
MP Hilary Benn also attended the event.
Holbeck Neighbourhood Policing Team officers provided crime prevention advice and up to date information on the new West Yorkshire Police Headquarters on Elland Road and also brought along some mini uniforms for the children to try on and have their pictures taken.
The new South Leeds Dog Watch project was promoted, creating interest from local dog walkers and the chance was given to meet the local officers and talk about issues within the area.
