Simon Forster from the St Andrew’s Pantomime Group in Beeston has been in touch about this year’s production (Oh yes he has!):
Have you ever wondered what your cat would say if it could talk? Or what life as a cobbler would be like? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to impersonate a member of the Aristocracy? If so, maybe you should consider putting your psychiatrist on danger money. Or perhaps you could just come with us to the once mighty kingdom of Albarosa.
When lowly Tom Miller and his faithful cat are cast out by his brothers he decides to find his fortune in town. Meanwhile, skint monarchs King Felix and Queen Gwendolyn are having enough trouble dealing with a terrifying Ogre ravaging their kingdom, and the local business people, Kitty the shoemaker and the old mill owners are no help at all. But when a sophisticated stranger and his man servant show up things really start to change.
There’s an incompetent Fairy, dopey guards, destitute Monarchs, comical Cobblers, a hero, a Princess, an Ogre and his minions and a cat in footwear!
So join us for laughs, songs, dances and more shoes than you can shake a stick at in this year’s fantastic pantomime, Puss in Boots. It’s a lot cheaper than putting your psychiatrist on danger money.
All performances take place at St Andrew’s Community Centre, Old Lane, Beeston, LS11 8AG.
