The full-day trip, on Saturday 25 July 2015, follows two similar and very popular trips in 2013 (also to Snowdon) and 2014 (to the Yorkshire Three Peaks). This year’s trip will give participants the opportunity to return to Mount Snowdon (the highest peak in Wales or England, at 1000m+), and this year climb it via a new route – the famously beautiful Miners Path.

Participants will leave south Leeds at 7am in minibuses, arrive at Snowdon by mid morning, hike up the mountain (and hopefully down again!), then return to Leeds for around 9pm. Places cost £5 per person (with family discounts available).

Event organiser Ed Carlisle comments: “It was amazing how enthusiastic people were about the previous trips – especially Snowdon, in 2013 – so we couldn’t not do another. It’s a great opportunity to get out of the city into beautiful countryside, meet new people, burn some calories, and have a laugh. And whilst it is a bit of a challenge, a wide range of people came last year and in 2013, so give it a go!”

The trip is coordinated by the Salvation Army South Leeds Initiative, in association with Hunslet Hawks, the Kashmir Muslim Welfare Association, Aspiring Communities, the Hunslet Club, Together for Peace, Hamara, the Hunslet Initiative, and the Beeston Space youth groups. If other groups want to get involved and support, get in touch… especially if they have access to a minibus!
