The South Leeds Life Group met yesterday at the end of a second successful year.
We are rather pleased with ourselves here at South Leeds Towers. 2012 saw a completely revamped website with extra features such as What’s On events guide. We launched the Community Reporters website, so that anyone can write a story for us. We ran our first weekly column – South of the River. And we are half way through a very successful Community Reporters course that has seen six new writers on the blog.
But we are not resting on our laurels. At yesterday’s meeting we discussed which stories and campaigns we should be looking at in the new year. So after the Christmas break, expect to see more about:
- Stanks Hall Barn
- Beeston Hill & Holbeck Housing PFI
- Profiles of Hamara Community Award winners
- Small ads on the site
- Support for local shops
We will also be teaming up with People’s Voice Media, bringing full accreditation to our courses; and working more closely with South Leeds Community Radio.
I don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait!
