Slung Low present 15 minute plays at Holbeck WMC

A theatre experience with a difference is promised by Hobeck-based Slung Low theatre on Sunday afternoon (10 November 2013).

Slung Low15 Minutes Live is an afternoon of short dramas – radio plays performed in front of a live audience. Slung Low are collaborating with The Writing Squad to present new plays by young northern writers. The plays are recorded with live foley (sound effects) and a live band. With limited capacity you need to reserve a ticket, but you decide how much to pay for it after you’ve seen the show – on the way out!

Refreshments including a tasty curry will be available between the plays and it’s all happening at the Holbeck Working Men’s Club at 2pm.

The young writers are Hannah Morpeth, Jessica Stratford, Sophie Ward, and Ryan Watson, and they will be sharing the stage with a new play from TV/Theatre writer and Squad tutor, Mark Catley.

Alan Lane, Slung Low’s artist director said:

“Spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon watching new plays performed live in front of you. These snapshots of life are part love story, part musical, part goon show. Buy some food in the breaks between plays from a tasty street food stall. The perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!”
