Come along and help shape the future of the Friends of New Forest Village!
There will be a special general meeting of the Friends of New Forest Village, on 4th December, 18:30 until 20:00, at St George’s Centre, Middleton, St George’s Road, Middleton, LS10 4UZ
This meeting could be a turning point for the Friends of New Forest Village, and you have the chance to be part of something pretty special.
We hope to elect a new Chair and Secretary at this meeting – if we are unable to do so then the Friends will be wound up.
Some potential candidates have come forward for those roles and will have their own ideas about what the Friends can do for the local community, but now is your chance to get involved and get across your ideas for how the Friends should operate in future. A big part of the discussions at and following the meeting on 21 November was that by getting more people involved the Friends could achieve bigger and better things.
So…
• if you have experience or enthusiasm for any area that can help the Friends, then please turn up and let us know.
• if you have links with organisations that could work with the Friends, then please turn up and let us know.
• most importantly, if you want to help make the New Forest Village a great place to live, with events and support for all in the local community, please turn up and let us know.
A great example of what can be achieved by the Friends, (which could be lost in future if they are wound up), was Fright Night. There have been preliminary discussions on what the Friends could put on at Christmas. If (as hoped) a new Chair and Secretary are elected then it will be full steam ahead after the meeting on 4 December, so come along and see how you can help!!
