Alan Shaw of the Friends of Middleton Park group writes –
I thought I would just post a little update about a little event that we have going on this Sunday – yes, it’s the fourth Friends of Middleton Park Craft, Flower and Produce Show – you might have heard about it before??
It’s on from 1.30 to 4pm in the park and we have soooo much going on.
Quite apart from the growing of the produce and flowers, the flower arranging, the making of the crafts and the taking and framing of the pictures that is. I hope you are doing this anyway…but we are offering so much more to tickle your tastebuds, ruffle your action bone, and take your fancy.
And we even have something for your pets – yes why not bring your dog along and get them to try the agility course, its only a £1 with all proceeds to charity.
You can also ride a pony on the bridleway (with the Middleton Equestrian Centre), shoot arrows behind the marquees (hopefully not too close to them!) with South Leeds Archers, tackle Ultimate Military Fitness’ assault course, ride on a model railway on the tennis courts, watch the South Leeds Aero Modellers fly gliders on the field and powered planes on the Clearings, enjoy familly fun with Groundwork in their teepee, be an ugly duckling (well a very large duckling in my case) with Northern Ballet, get your face painted, or race a hen…or why not try them all?
The Friends will be selling raffle tickets, running a tombola, and selling refreshments (including lots of lovely cakes).
The best way to enjoy all of these festivities is probably by public transport as there will be very limited disabled parking on site.
Why not get off at Middleton Circus and walk down to us. We will be operating a free minibus service to and from the main gates for those who want to avoid climbing the hill!
Come and enjoy the fun – hope to see all of you on Sunday!
