Police are appealing for information following a robbery on Beeston Road in Leeds on Tuesday, 17 January.
The incident happened at around 11am when an 83 year old woman was walking along when she was approached from behind by the suspect.
The suspect grabbed her handbag by the strap and pulled it with such force, the victim fell to the ground injuring her wrist. The suspect made off with the handbag and was chased by some members of the public around the Cross Flatts Grove area of Beeston.
The suspect is described as a man of Asian or Eastern European appearance, in his 20’s, with a slim face and approximately 5’10” tall. He was wearing a dark jacket with a turquoise hood protruding from the rear collar.
