Police have today said that they are investigating the blaze which gutted the Middleton Arms pub on Saturday night.
A police spokesperson said:
“Police are investigating a fire that took hold of the Middleton Arms Public House at about 10.50pm on Saturday 3 December. Due to strong winds the fire took hold quickly and the damage to the historic building is extensive. The Middleton Arms was built in 1925.”
