Cockburn School’s proposed fourteen 15m and 8m tall floodlight masts will impact visual amenity, particularly for those in the Links facing the new sports facilities and the lighting will also impact the wildlife that emerges from the woodland and nature reserve on an evening such as bats, owls and moths. The new facilities already have sufficient low level lighting and it was agreed by the council that only low level lighting was allowed in this parkland area next to the woods. But the school are trying again anyway. If you wish to object to the new application to put floodlight masts in the park affecting residents and wildlife please submit your objection by this Friday 30 August.
