    1. Hi, details below copied off AI, internet searches offering no real new info. Seems like deterioration enabling demolition may be a possible game plan, thanks:
      • Condition: The building is currently abandoned and boarded up, though its interior was reportedly still intact with many items remaining as of an urban exploration in early 2024.
      • Future: The future of the site remains uncertain, and no redevelopment work has taken place as of late 2024. The land has been sold, and a nearby car dealership has expanded into the area.
      • Derelict Building: The pub building sits abandoned and boarded up, reportedly with much of its interior intact from when it closed in late 2022. The site was sold in 2023.
      • Rejected Plans: Previous applications by developers to demolish the pub and build a drive-through coffee shop were repeatedly refused by Leeds City Council and the Planning Inspectorate, following a strong “Save The Salters” community campaign.
      • Uncertain Future: The current owners do not have a public or approved plan for the specific pub building. Some local speculation suggests it will be left to deteriorate until it can be legally demolished without planning permission issues, or that it might become part of a larger car park expansion for the nearby car dealership or stadium.
      • Wider Area Regeneration: Leeds City Council has launched a major, 20-year vision to regenerate the 30 acres around Elland Road. This includes plans for up to 2,000 new homes, leisure and commercial spaces, improved transport links (including a potential tram route), and an expanded Leeds United stadium. The pub site is within this wider regeneration zone.
In short, there is no current construction on the pub site, and the building’s future is in limbo while the owners wait for a viable option or the wider council plans to progress.
