I’m sad to report the death of my friend Robin Silverwood.
I knew Robin and Marlene well, going back when he worked for the Parks department and lived in the old cottages on Town Street. I spoke to them many times at Middleton Elderly Aid and cafes in the area.
RIP Robin, my friend. My condolences to Marlene and the family.
Alison Wain from Middleton Park Baptist Church commented:
“All of us at Middleton Park Baptist Church were deeply saddened to hear of Robin Silverwood’s passing.
“He was a generous, kind and loving man who was a pillar of the local community and also in later years a dearly loved regular member of our congregation. He will be deeply missed. Our prayers go out to Marlene and the whole family at this time as well as to his many friends, who we also count ourselves privileged to be included in.
“May God wrap his arms of loving comfort around everybody who is grieving at this time. Robin recently said to me in hospital, holding his wooden cross that he loved so much, that he felt the presence of Jesus with him as his friend and he told me that though he loved life he was not afraid of death for he knew he would be with his friend and Saviour.
“After only recently coming back out of hospital and then needing to go back in, his passing has come as a shock to many of us , so we pray that the Lord will comfort us all with his presence and the knowledge that Robin is safe with the Lord in whom he put his trust.”
The family invite all who knew and loved Robin to the funeral, everyone is welcome at each part of the funeral:
