Are you returning to work? 
Would you like to refresh your computer skills and help others at the same time? Get IT Together – Leeds is looking for volunteers interested in tutoring at their free information IT sessions. You could help learners:

  • learn their way around a computer
  • get online
  • conduct a web search and explore the internet
  • send and receive emails

Get IT Together can offer you flexible volunteering hours and expenses, and the chance to refresh your own IT skills and learn new ones for your CV. They are also recruiting for paid tutors for our IT sessions– experience not necessary.

Leeds Play Network – Fun Creative Sessions

Do you need somewhere to go on a Saturday morning? Why not get down to Leeds Play Network for a free fun session on different ways to use scrap in a creative way. Take an opportunity to look around the Play Resource Centre, which offers access to affordable scrap and arts and crafts materials.

It’s a chance to stock up on items and take some different creative ideas away and a good opportunity to have a chat and a coffee

The next session is on Saturday 21st September from 10am to 12pm at Leeds Play Network, 5 The Courtyard, 118 Church Street, Hunslet, LS10 2JA.

 

BITMO Annual General Meeting

The Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation are holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 26th September from 6:30pm

The AGM is an opportunity for you to discover more about the the work of the Tenant Management Organisation, including work in the community and investments in the neighbourhood.

This year’s AGM will be held in their new community space, at the former library building on Belle Isle Road at Aberfield Gate, Belle Isle, LS10 3QH; this will be the first opportunity for tenants and partners to visit this new centre. Light refreshments will be served from 6:30pm for, before the AGM starts at 7:00pm.

The Guest Speaker will be McGeever, Chief Executive of Health for All and Christine Shepard, Board Chair and Belle Isle tenant, will present her take on a ‘Year in the Life of Belle Isle TMO’.

 

Asha Mental Health And Older Women’s Event

Asha Neighbourhood Project are holding a Mental Health And Older Women’s Event at their centre on Stratford Street, Beeston. The event on Wednesday 9th October 2013 will run from 11am to 2pm are include fun and exciting activities such as Hand and Arm Massage, Discussions, Story Telling and Memory Games. A light lunch will be provided.
