Since April 2023, The Hunslet Club in South Leeds has been offering free girls-only football sessions to empower a new generation of girls to participate in this beloved sport.
These free sessions take place every Tuesday at The Hunslet Club, and after weeks of training, the commitment, teamwork, and talent these girls have shown paid off.
On Saturday 10 June 2023, the Hunslet Girls won their first football match together as a team against Morley Glen.
We are incredibly proud of this win; however, we are also proud of the girls who did something new and took part in this match. It takes courage to do something out of your comfort zone, but these girls showed us that teamwork, commitment, and passion go a long way on the field.
Come along to our free, girls-only training sessions every Tuesday – no booking is required; sign in at The Hunslet Club reception and start playing.
Tuesdays:
- 5:30–6:30pm: Girls Year 2–4
- 6:30–7:30pm: Girls Year 5–7
Every young person should have the opportunity to get involved in a sport that promotes teamwork, communication, movement and more, and these sessions give girls in Leeds the chance to do so in a safe and welcoming space.
