Leeds Dynamite Dance is set to fly out to the USA in a couple of days to complete in the world championships.
The Middleton-based group, who train at the Ark Family Centre and Middleton Park Baptist Church, are taking two teams out of our five bid winning teams to compete at the Allstar World Championships at Universal in Orlando, Florida.
Dynamite’s senior team will compete in the most prestigious, Allstar dance event in the entire world, the IAFS Dance World Championships. This is the dance equivalent of the Olympics. Which is also held in Orlando, Florida, at Disney World.
Danielle Watkins who runs Leeds Dynamite Dance said:
“All the dancers will be there to represent the UK, England, Yorkshire, Leeds and Middleton.
“We are the first team in the whole of Yorkshire to represent in the Hiphop dance divisions.
“We are so lucky to be able to be the only Yorkshire / Leeds team to be selected as the highest scoring team in the UK to represent our country. We had to win an invitation (bid) out of the whole of England and UK in the selected Dance division (Hiphop Dance in not one, but two age groups) to be able to go to compete in the first place.”
