Man found dead in Middleton this morning

A man found dead in Leeds this morning is believed to be Stephen Verity who had been reported missing.

At 6.34am today, a member of the public reported finding the body of a man in woods off Towcester Avenue, Middleton.

While formal identification is yet to be completed, it is believed to be Mr Verity who had been the subject of a missing person investigation after concerns were raised for his welfare earlier today.

His family have been informed. There were no suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been notified.
