The newly formed Hunslet Club & Parkside Academy Under 8s Team played there first game on Sunday 3rd March against a much more experienced East Leeds team.
After a nervous start the Hunslet Club & Parkside Academy team found their feet and started to produce the rugby skills they have learned in the training sessions over the last few months and gave East Leeds a good test in what proved to be a very enjoyable morning of Rugby League. Special mentions to all the players who represented the club, Albany Coates, Abby Briggs, Daniel Cowie, Mathew Cowie, James Edwards, Oliver Whitford and Tyler Jackson. Thanks also to all the friends, family and supporters who came and cheered the team on.
It is fantastic to see this newly formed Hunslet Club & Parkside Squad doing so well, so quickly. We look forward to more great things from them soon. Our first home game is Sunday 10th March against Drighlington, 10.30am kick off at the Parkside ground on Belle Isle Road. All support is very welcome.
Rugby training takes place at the Hunslet Club on Fridays for 2 to 4 year olds from 4:00 to 4:45pm and for Reception & Yr 1, 2, 3 & 4 age children from 4:30 to 5:30pm. Cost: £1.50 per session. Further details here.
