Holbeck Moor JFC vs Prostate Cancer charity match

Saturday (20 July 2024) was Holbeck Moor JFC’s first ever charity football match. It was the coaches of the kids within the club versus the parents. We wanted to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK while raising money for the children at the club at the same time.

Put together in under four weeks, the weather was glorious and the atmosphere even better with approximately 200 people in attendance all supporting the cause and the community coming out to support those involved.

It was a very close game with some great goals and lots of fun in a fair contest in which the parents ran out 8-7 winners of the game. But most importantly we were able to get the message out to all the coaches, parents the dads about prostate cancer and how to be aware and get checked out.

We raised a whopping £956 in a short period of time, our 2025 Charity Football Match will be even bigger and better.
