Last year I went to the community carol service at St. Matthew’s Community Centre in Holbeck. This year I plan to do exactly the same.
At 6pm on Sunday 7 November 2014 Mosaic Church are putting on their annual community carol service. There is such a warm and friendly Christmas atmosphere the guys (who live in the area of Holbeck) never fail to deliver.
The evening will run like this:
5.30pm Christmas lights switch on (on Holbeck Moor)
6pm Mulled wine and mince pies will be served inside St. Matthew’s Community Centre.
Then, to follow there will be all the classic carols, like Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Oh Little Town of Bethlehem. The songs are accompanied by a top quality band to help us along. After the singing the carols, there will be a short talk and a video. See if you recognise anyone filmed from Holbeck. The evening then continues with the serving of a lovely hot meal.
I’m looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Everything is free you don’t have to pay. Just bring yourselves and some Christmas cheer! See you there for another special and original event in Holbeck.
