In a significant step toward supporting local families and promoting community well-being, Hamara has launched a brand new on-site community foodbank container.
Based at the heart of Beeston, this foodbank is now open and ready to provide essential support to other communities who then can provide support to those in need.
The initiative reflects Hamara’s ongoing commitment to addressing food insecurity and ensuring everyone in the community has access to nutritious, reliable meals.
As living costs continue to rise, the foodbank aims to serve as a safety net for individuals and families facing hardship, while also fostering a stronger sense of local solidarity.
“We know how difficult things have become for many people,” said a spokesperson for Hamara. “Our foodbank is here to support anyone who needs a helping hand—and to remind them that they’re not alone.”
Hamara is also embarking on an exciting new journey: a comprehensive community consultation process that will guide its next five-year vision. Residents, service users, and local partners are all being invited to share their views, ideas, and hopes for the future of Hamara’s work.
“This is a pivotal moment for us,” said Zainab Khalid, who is leading the consultation project.
“We want to hear from as many voices as possible. Whether you’ve worked with us before or are new to Hamara, your input can help us shape a vision that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our community.”
If you’d like to be part of shaping the future of Hamara and making a real difference in your community, please get in touch with Zainab directly at Zainab.khalid@hamara.co.uk.
Together, we can build a stronger, more connected, and more resilient community.
