Hamara and Leeds Rhinos Foundation Community Iftar

In a celebration of unity, inclusivity, and cultural understanding, Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Beeston-based Hamara came together to host a special Community Iftaar at AMT Headingley Stadium on Saturday (22 March 2025).

The event welcomed a diverse group of attendees, including community leaders, athletes, volunteers, and local families, to share in the spirit of Ramadan and strengthen connections across communities.

This unique partnership between two leading charities highlights the power of collaboration in breaking down barriers, particularly in sport. By fostering engagement between communities traditionally underrepresented in rugby league, the event aimed to create greater accessibility and inclusivity in the sport, demonstrating that rugby is a game for all.

Raheem Mohammad, Hamara’s Director said:

“This event is about more than just breaking fast together—it’s about breaking barriers and building meaningful connections. Our partnership with Leeds Rhinos Foundation is a testament to the impact we can create when we work together for the community.”

With inspiring speeches, moments of reflection, and an atmosphere of togetherness, the evening reinforced the shared values of compassion, respect, and community empowerment that both organisations champion.
