The Friends of Middleton Park group have announced a wide array of events to be held in the famous park during the summer months.
Highlights include Oddsocks returning for a fifth year, bringing laughs and mayhem – this year Julius Caesar gets the Oddsocks treatment.
- 13-May-2012 (Sun) – Birdwalking with Linda Jenkinson – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.Join the Friends as we go on a bird walk with our guide, Linda Jenkinson, who has been birdwatching for over 20 years. The Friends will be serving Refreshments near the Car Park near the Lake. Plans for the ongoing Lakeside Centre building work will be on display.
- 20-May-2012 (Sun) – Teas in the Park – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Friends will be serving Refreshments near the Car Park and Lake. Plans for the ongoing Lakeside Centre building work will be on display.

Remember every Sunday up to 29th September, the Friends will be in the Park, from 2 4 p.m.
All Events will be close to where the Lakeside Centre was unless stated otherwise.
- 3-June-2012 (Sun) – Circus Skills Workshop with Professor Fiddlesticks – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.Excellent fun for kids of all ages! Come along to this Circus Workshop, learn and practice your diabolical diablo, fantastic flower sticks tricks and balancing bonanza and be rewarded with a balloon animal.The Friends will be serving Refreshments near the Car Park and Lake. Plans for the ongoing Lakeside Centre building work will be on display.
- 10-June-2011 (Sun) – Tenderloin Ragtime Orchestra – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come along and listen to a fabulous jazz quartet (sponsored by Leeds City Council) and have a cuppa and a piece of cake whilst you listen.
- 16-June-2012 (Sat) 7am to 9am – Bird Survey Come along to help survey the birds in the park. Bring binoculars if you have them and please wear suitable footwear for undulating and sloping ground. Organised by Leeds Countryside Rangers.
- 17-June-2011 (Sun) – Wildlife Photography Day – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come along and and join the Friends and acountryside ranger as we tour the park looking for wildlife. Steve Joul will show good spots to take photographs. You may even want to show your results in the in the Summer Show on Sun 9th September.
- 19-June-2011 (Tue) – Oddsocks: Julius Caesar outdoor theatre show – 7 p.m. Oddsocks are back for the 5th year bringing laughs and mayhem. This year Julius Caesar gets the Oddsocks treatment! Come along, bring a picnic, a blanket, chair and warm clothes, then sit back and enjoy the fun. Click here for more information about this Oddsocks production. Free event. Sponsored by the Friends.
- 23-June-2012 (Sat) 10am to 12noon – ‘Parks for the People’ improvements Come along for a guided stroll in the park to see how the park improvements are coming along. Please wear suitable footwear for undulating and sloping ground. Organised by Leeds Countryside Rangers.
- 24-June-2012 (Sun) – Middleton Railway 200th Anniversary Help celibrate Middleton Railway being 200 years old! There will be a series of activities, including a short walk in the park that will highlight the shared heritage we feel with the railway.
