St Luke’s CARES charity shop are running their popular Retail courses at their Dewsbury Road charity shop starting on Tuesday 11 June 2019 and will run on a Tuesday and Wednesday every week until 24 July 2019.
The free course runs over seven weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am-2pm. You’ll learn all about volunteering and gain valuable hands on skills working in a busy second hand furniture shop.
Course leader, Lucy Potter said:
“St Luke’s Cares’ seven week Retail Course is a friendly informal course which takes place above the busy charity shop on Dewsbury Road. Participants learn ‘soft skills’ in a friendly environment of the workplace getting ‘hands on’ experience in; customer service, till work and shop displays.
“Alongside this there is learning in IT Fundamentals and different responsibilities of a volunteers role in a charity shop such as sorting, ragging and pricing all of which lead to obtaining a Level One Certificate in Skills for Further Learning and Employment.”
