With the football season drawn to a close, the Hunslet Club can now celebrate one of its most successful seasons ever. The pre-school toddler sessions are busy every week and are set to produce the clubs’ stars of tommorow, well done to our dedicated coaches of our most junior members.
The Under 11’s won the Garforth League 2nd division title, the Under 12’s won the 3rd division title and Under 14’s also won their third division title.
The Under 12’s also won the Supplementary Cup Final.
The Under 16’s won the the Powerleagues 6 A-Side Tournament, came 2nd in the Clubs for Young People Northern Regional Tournament and went on to win the national final in Manchester.
All of our other junior teams finished in the top halves of their respective leagues.
The Clubs’ Open Age Team won the Leeds & District Cup reached the final of the Yorkshire County Cup and won promotion from the West Yorkshire League Division 2.
The club this year became the Official Affiliated Academy Partner to Leeds United in South Leeds, “We are very grateful for our links with Leeds United” explains Craig “It has been great working with their coaches and training talented players to the point where we’ve referred them to their team scouts and seen them go on to join their youth squads.”
A massive well done to everyone involved in the clubs’ football successes this season, from the players, to the tireless coaches, volunteers and supporters, we owe you a huge vote of thanks, without them, there’d be no club!
As for next season, onwards and upwards, don’t forget we are launching a girls squad for school years 5, 6 & 7. If you know anyone of any girls who might be interested in joining, please tell them about it.
