Emmerdale star to switch on Christmas lights at White Rose

 

white_roseThe launch of White Rose Shopping Centre’s festive shopping season is set to be a cracker with Emmerdale star Adam Thomas switching on the centre’s Christmas Lights on Thursday 14 November 2013.

Adam, better known for playing Adam Barton in ITV1 soap Emmerdale, will be joined by Britain’s Got Talent dance duo finalists Signature and six piece male string group, The Studio Players. Both groups will be performing sets as part of the countdown to Adam’s big Christmas Light Switch On at 7:45pm in the Central Atrium and will be getting shoppers in the mood for an evening of shopping and festivities.

Throughout the evening shoppers will have the chance to visit the Treat Bar located outside Debenhams, where they will have the chance to pick up a free festive gift when they spend over £25 in the centre and one lucky family will win the top ten toys for Christmas, as chosen by the centre’s official Toy Testers .

James Bailey, centre director at White Rose Shopping Centre, comments:

“As always we are really excited about the 2013 Christmas Light Switch On. The event marks the official start of our extended festive opening hours, so shoppers have plenty of time to complete their Christmas shopping.

“This year’s event plans are bigger and better than ever, we have so many activities happening on the mall including our Treat Bar, which is the perfect way for all of us at White Rose to thank our shoppers for their loyalty and support over the past twelve months.”

This year’s event will be supported by Radio Aire, with the breakfast show DJ’s Naomi and Rich hosting the event. The Radio Aire Street Team will also be on the malls on the hunt for.

Former football manager, Peter Jackson, will be signing copies of his autobiography from 5pm to 6.30pm outside Next and Zara. Signature and The Studio Players will kick start the evening’s entertainment with performances starting at 7.00pm, and Emmerdale heart throb Adam Thomas switching on the lights at 7.45pm. Adam will then be holding a signing from 8.00pm until 8.30pm.

Santa will also be back at the centre this festive season. His grotto will be residing on the mall between Next and Zara from Saturday 16 November to Tuesday 24 December. The opening hours are:

  • Saturday-Sunday: 12pm-5pm (16-17 November)
  • Thursday-Sunday: 12pm-5pm (21 November – 1 December)
  • Tuesday – Sunday: 12pm – 5pm (3-23 December)
  • Christmas Eve: 10am – 3pm

The Christmas opening hours at White Rose, between Thursday 14 November to Tuesday 24 December are:

  • Monday – Friday: 9am – 10pm
  • Saturday: 9am – 8pm
  • Sunday: 11am – 5pm
