Crowds Flock to See Sheepdog Duck Herding and Brass Band As Shopping Centre Celebrates Yorkshire Day in Style
White Rose Shopping Centre celebrated Yorkshire Day today (1 August 2017) with an unusual twist on sheepdog demonstrations accompanied by a live brass band.
Crowds were entertained in the centre’s recently opened Village with duck-herding demonstrations, a live brass band, children’s games and a free photobooth so visitors could take away a memento of the day.
Steven Foster, General Manager of White Rose Shopping Centre, said:
“We’re known for our Yorkshire Day celebrations here at White Rose – last year we created the UK’s largest bouquet of white roses – and we know that our visitors love to get stuck in to fun activities, so a traditional herding demonstration with a twist was a great way to celebrate the occasion.”
The Village is White Rose’s newly-opened outdoor development with six restaurants: Limeyard, Five Guys, Chiquito, TGI Friday’s, Wagamama, and Pizza Hut. A children’s outdoor woodland play area is set to open later this month, with an 11-screen IMAX Cineworld to follow later this year.
