Dementia ‘Time for a Cuppa’ event at BITMOs GATE. (Update)

‘Time For A Cuppa’ is a national campaign to help raise money and awareness for Dementia UK, a charity that supports people and their families who are affected by dementia.

We’re hosting a Time For A Cuppa event on Saturday 3 March 2018, between 12-4pm, which everyone is welcome to attend.

We have decided this year to hold the event on a Saturday, so families can come as well as those who work during the week.

My Demetria Is getting a little worse, so this will be my last event for Dementia UK.

I want to make it a big one and raise some cash for Admiral Nurses.

Last year we raised £100.00,  hope to beat that amount this year

Organised by our volunteer Ken Ingram and the Community and Tenant Support Team at the GATE, the afternoon will be filled with fun, music, cake and tea… and we couldn’t think of a better way of spending a Saturday afternoon!

 

Update: the Lord Mayor has agreed to come to the event, and I hear is quite a good dancer. So I’m thinking, (Is This The Way To) Amarillo sung by Julie, who has agreed to sing to us all again this year.

John, will be playing his guitar as background music.

So will (Cllr Jane Dowson) Lord Mayor have us up all dancing? You will have to come and find out.

I saw the Lord Mayor at West Yorkshire Playhouse last week and she is looking forward to the event.

Local Councillors Kim Groves and Paul Truswell have now confirmed they are to come as well. I’m still waiting for reply from Hilary Benn MP.

Goods for the raffle and Tombola are still needed if you have anything left over from Christmas, please drop off at the GATE or I can pick up, if that’s more convenient.

We already have some fantastic raffle prizes, donated by myself, the Lord Mayor, Greedy Monkeys, Chris and Julie Holmes..

Please let us know if your coming, so we know how much food to prepare?
