Rowland Road Club in Beeston Hill are holding a car boot sale and community barbecue on Bank Holiday Monday (26 August 2019) – and everyone’s invited! Come grab a bargain, or raise some cash for your unwanted items, or both.
The event is part of a summer programme including free arts workshops (previously reported here), the creation of a mural and outdoor area, and a general makeover of the club – in association with East Street Arts, St Luke’s Cares, and local businesses and groups.
The car boot sale will open from 10am. To book an outdoor pitch in the car park, or indoor space in the function room (both priced at £5), contact Steve: on email (stephen.firth@hotmail.co.uk), or call 07593 335 399.
The club – locally known as Rowley’s – is much more than just a bar. It’s a members-owned organisation, formed over 100 years ago, to be a safe friendly space for people of all ages and backgrounds. Its regular opening hours are Monday-Thursday 6-11pm, and Friday-Sunday 4-11pm – and weekends typically feature live entertainment, bingo, and more. But it’s also a local venue for martial arts, events, kids parties, sports, and more – and the club is always open to new visitors and new ideas.
