When debt gets out of control, it impacts more than just your bank balance. With the added pressure affecting all aspects of life, from mental health and sleep to work and relationships, it can be difficult to know where to turn.
This scenario is a daily reality for 1.4m people across the UK who urgently need free debt advice. That’s why we’re supporting StepChange Debt Charity as they run their second Debt Awareness Week campaign which starts today (26 January 2015). We are encouraging as many people as possible in financial difficulty to take control of their finances.
One week. Make it count.
January can be a tough month. Experiencing a financial hangover from Christmas and watching the bills pile up on the doormat is no way to start the New Year. But January is also a time for resolutions and taking action, which is why StepChange Debt Charity is launching their new 7 Days, 7 Ways email programme.
The programme is packed with bite-size support and advice, and will show you how taking one small step a day can make a life-changing difference. It will help you to examine your relationship with money, understand your spending, and encourage you to take steps to deal with your debts sooner rather than later. Each day is packed full of practical advice, from working out what you owe to understanding your priority payments and creating a longer term action plan.
Not only will the 7 Days, 7 Ways programme help you to identify the financial challenges you face, but most importantly it’ll enable you to confront debt with confidence.
