Holbeck in Bloom has called a crisis meeting on Saturday (8 October 2016), asking Holbeck residents to join the group and help out in their work improving the local environment.
The group has dwindled in recent years and few of the members now live in Holbeck.
“If we don’t get some new blood, I’m afraid we will have to call it a day” said Secretary Ian Pickup.
Over the last ten years Holbeck in Bloom has worked with Leeds City Council on a range of scheme’s including raised beds, bulb planting on the moor and improving a green walking corridor into the city centre.
“You don’t need greenfingers to get involved” explains Ian. “You just need a sense of community pride and a willingness to get involved and give up a few hours of your time every month.”
The meeting is being held at The Holbeck club, Jenkinson Lawn on Saturday 8 October starting at 11am.
If you want to get involved but cannot attend the meeting, please contact Holbeck in Bloom via Facebook.
