The Inner South Area Committee of Leeds City Council has its next meeting on Wednesday 16th May at Hillside on Beeston Road, starting at 6:30pm.
The Area Committee is made up of the nine Councillors of our three wards: Beeston & Holbeck, City & Hunslet and Middleton Park (details here). They meet about six times a year to discuss issues that impact on the area. They also control a “Well Being” budget of several hundred thousand pounds which funds all sorts of community projects including the print version of South Leeds Life. Last year they took over direct control of street cleansing (ie street sweeping and public bins, but NOT household bin collection).
The meetings are open to the public and always start with an Open Forum where anyone can raise an issue they want to bring to the attention of the Councillors.
Full details and papers for the meeting are available here.
