Dozens of community groups from South Leeds headed to the Civic Hall on Wednesday for an evening of celebration.
The event was organised by the Councillors of our three wards: Beeston & Holbeck, City & Hunslet and Middleton Park. Groups that had received funding from the Inner South Area Committee or through the Community First programme were invited.
Many groups, including South Leeds Life, took the opportunity to show off their work with a stall. These proved a great catalyst to conversations. There was also a chance to chat with Councillors.
Cllr Angela Gabriel said:
“We deliberately kept it low key: no speeches, no certificates. It is a chance for a lot of very busy people to get together and find out what each other is doing. I’m hoping there will be some new collaborations after tonight.”
