Civic Trust support Stank Hall Barn Meeting

Leeds Civic Trust are giving their backing to Thursday’s public meeting to discuss the future of Stank Hall Barn in Beeston. The meeting has been organised by South Leeds Life.

Leeds Civic Trust logoStank Hall barn is on the Civic Trust’s list of priority Heritage At Risk buildings around the city and their Heritage At Risk Group have chosen the barn as the building they would most like to champion.

The Trust supports our aim to set up a Friends of Stank Hall Barn group from Thursday’s meeting. This is a sensible idea in their view, as it one that can start small and build as more people get on board with the idea.

“As a group they would be well placed to explore local community feeling and views, the business position of stakeholders such as the White Rose Shopping Centre, the local authority and so on.”

Leeds City Council, who own the Barn are also supportive of a Friends group being set up.

The meeting is being held on Thursday, starting at 7:00pm at Beeston Village Community Centre (the old library) on St Anthony’s Drive.
