The candidates for the General Election and Leeds City Council election have been announced.
We’ve published full lists of the candidates for Leeds Central, Beeston & Holbeck ward, City & Hunslet ward and Middleton Park ward.
We’re writing to all the candidates to ask them questions sent in by you, our readers.
We are asking the parliamentary candidates these three questions:
1. Where will our children live?
2. Tax dodging robs this and other countries of money which could be spent on health, education, justice systems and all the other things we value. Will you support a Law which:
· makes it harder for big companies to dodge UK taxes and ensure they’re not getting unfair tax breaks;
· ensures UK tax rules don’t encourage big companies to avoid tax in developing countries;
· makes the UK tax regime more transparent and tougher on tax dodging.
3. What is your opinion on the Devolution for the North whereby the so called Northern Powerhouse cities have responsibility for their own budgets and priorities ?
And we are asking the local candidates these three questions:

2. How would you improve the planning system for local people?
3. What is your opinion on the Devolution for the North whereby the so called Northern Powerhouse cities have responsibility for their own budgets and priorities ?
We will publish their answers as they send them in so keep checking back to compare answers and make your choice.
